Care Instructions for HEVEA Products
SAFER FOR YOU. SAFER FOR PLANET.
Wide Neck Baby Glass Bottles, Nipples, Caps & Sleeves
Easy Use
HEVEA Wide Neck Baby Bottles are especially easy to use with formula due to their wide rim, but are also suitable for use with breast milk, milk, and water.
Both the nipple and cap attach easily and are leak-proof. Just place over the neck of the bottle, and stretch to attach.
If your bottle has a natural rubber sleeve, these are easy to put on and take off! Turn inside out. Fit over the base of the bottle, pull up and over the bottle, stretching the rubber as needed to fit over the rim, until it falls into place snugly around the bottle.
There are gradations on the feeding bottle, but if more accurate measurements are needed, please use a measuring cup or spoon.
When shaken, the pressure inside the bottle may go up and cause leakage or spraying due to the high temperature of the liquid inside.
Depending on your baby's age and temperature needs, you can warm the contents by sitting the bottle in hot water or using a bottle warmer. Afterwards, cool down by placing the baby bottle in a bowl of cool water. Always check the temperature of the liquid for safe levels prior to feeding. We do not recommend heating in a microwave as they heat at uneven temperatures.
Care Instructions - Natural Rubber Nipples & Caps
Sterilize the nipple and cap by placing in a bowl and submerging in boiled water for five minutes. Dry, ensuring all water is out of the teat, and store until ready to use again. Since nipples are made from natural materials, do not leave in direct sun for extended periods of time.
When bottle feeding babies up to 3 months, sterilize the nipple after each use. Once babies are over 3 months, sterilize after every few uses.
Keep nipples rinsed with warm water and dried between uses. For hygienic and safety purposes, nipples should always be replaced after 6-8 weeks of use. Always check the nipple for wear and tear by pulling in all directions. Replace if any wear or tear is evident.
Used nipples are compostable and will biodegrade naturally.
Care Instructions - Natural Rubber Sleeve
For the sleeves, simply clean in warm soapy water, rinse, and let dry. Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Used sleeves are compostable and will biodegrade naturally.
Care Instructions - Glass Baby Bottle
Sterilize the bottle by boiling in a pot on the stove for 5 minutes. Be sure they are completely covered by water. Set out to cool and dry on a clean cloth.
Alternatively, sterilize by washing in sterilizing solution or using a bottle sterilizing machine. Do not boil in a pressure cooker or microwave.
When bottle feeding babies up to 3 months, disinfect the feeding bottle after each use. Once babies are over 3 months, you can also wash using warm water in your sink or via dishwasher (place on top rack).
Safety Warning
Borosilicate glass is stronger than normal glass and should withstand most drops, but it still can break. Check the bottle and accessories before each use and replace if broken or cracked.
HEVEA bottles are thermo-resistant and can be boiled. Always ensure the bottle is cooled to appropriate levels before giving to your baby. We do not recommend freezing our bottles.
Always use this product with adult supervision. Do not leave your baby alone to bottle feed.
Keep all components not in use out of the reach of children - feeding teat or sealing disc may be swallowed and are choking hazards.
Never use feeding teats as a soother. Tooth decay in young children can occur when the baby is allowed to use the bottle for prolonged periods.
HEVEA nipples are produced from natural rubber (latex). Allergic reaction symptoms include: itching, skin redness, rash, runny nose, watery eyes. Stop usage if any symptoms occur. DO NOT use if you are aware of latex allergies.

Standard Neck Glass Baby Bottles & Nipples
Easy Use
HEVEA bottles are easy to assemble and are leak-free! To assemble, place the natural rubber nipple through the bottom of the screw cap and pull until it sits snugly up against the cap. Screw the cap to the top of the bottle and tighten securely - do not squeeze the nipple valve too much after doing so as this regulates the air in the bottle, minimizing the chances of colic. The dust cover can be easily attached to the screw cap by pushing down.
The bottle is suitable for use with breast milk, formula, milk, and water.
You can warm the contents for the baby by sitting the bottle in hot water or using a bottle warmer. Always check the temperature of the liquid for safe levels prior to feeding. We do not recommend heating in a microwave.

Nipple Shields for Breastfeeding
Care Instructions
Sterilize the nipple shield by placing it in a bowl and submerging in boiled water for five minutes. Dry and store until ready to use. Do not leave in direct sun for extended periods of time.
You will know it is time to dispose of the product when the material becomes sticky. Please compost.
Sizing Guide
HEVEA nipple shields are medium size (diameter: 24 mm). To measure: using a ruler or measuring tape, measure the width of each nipple at its base, excluding the areola. Measure both nipples as they can be different sizes. Add approximately 2-4 mm. If you arrive at 24 mm, our shields should be a great fit.
Tips for Successful Use
-
Express a few drops of your breastmilk onto the inside of the nipple shield. This helps prevent chafing and improves the seal with your breast.
-
Place the nipple shield centrally over the nipple to help draw some of the nipple and areola into the shield.
-
Hold the nipple shield in place with your fingers on the outside edges.
-
There should be a small space between the end of your nipple and the end of the nipple shield. If your nipple touches the end, the shield is too small.
-
Point the tip of the nipple shield at your baby's nose and encourage your baby to open its mouth wide.
-
Once the baby is attached, look for gentle jaw movement and listen for swallowing.
-
Extra tip: Try massaging coconut oil on your nipples after breastfeeding to relieve chafing and soreness.
Colour Changing
Since our products are made out of natural materials and colouring dyes, they may change colour during use (darken, for instance). This is totally natural and it is still okay to use a product whose colour is changing.
Pacifiers
Care and safety instructions for pacifiers are available in various languages. Please refer to the dedicated pacifier care instructions page on the HEVEA website.
CLEANINGBefore first use, place the pacifier in a bowl and pour boiling water over it, soaking for five minutes. Squeeze out any excess water left in the teat, and let dry. To maintain cleanliness, rinse regularly with water, and soak in boiling water from time-to-time for five minutes maximum.
We do not recommend disinfecting pacifiers with sterilizing solution as this will weaken the teat and shorten the lifespan of the pacifier.
ALWAYS TEST YOUR BABY'S PACIFIERBefore each use, always test the pacifier by gently pulling on the nipple in all directions to inspect it for any tears or rips. If you notice any tears or weakness in the nipple, it is time to dispose of the pacifier and replace.
WHEN TO CHANGE YOUR PACIFIERIt is a universal safety recommendation (regardless of the pacifier material or brand) that pacifiers must be replaced every 6-8 weeks for hygiene and safety reasons. For natural rubber pacifiers it is even more important since the material is completely natural. It is time to dispose of the pacifier and replace it when you notice that the nipples is ripped or torn, on once the pacifier becomes sticky or starts peeling. These are all signs of the pacifier's natural aging process or over love/use.
If you feel the pacifier aging process was faster than 6-8 weeks, a reason this may of happened if the pacifier was left out in direct sunlight for long periods of time, or was exposed to acids during sterilization if you have used solutions or anything more than boiled water to sterilize our pacifiers (or placed the pacifier in a microwave or dishwasher) - as this can weaken the material and shorten the lifespan of the pacifier and is not recommended. If this is not the case, please docontact our customer service team with some additional information about the age and condition of your pacifier with some images.
HOW TO DISPOSE OF YOUR PACIFIEROur pacifiers are 100% natural rubber and are therefore biodegradable. At the end of their use, you can compost or dispose of in a food waste bin.
MY NEW PACIFIER SEEMS SMALLER THAN THE OLD ONE I JUST REPLACED - DID YOU SEND ME THE WRONG SIZE?The size difference you are seeing is common with natural rubber pacifiers as they enlarge slightly in size over time as they are made with a plant-based natural materials. Both the nipple from being sucked on, but also the face and handle as they are soaked during the cleaning process too. It does not mean there is anything wrong with the product, it is simply the nature of natural rubber. And note that it is recommended to always replace pacifiers every 6-8 weeks for hygiene reasons (this is recommended for all pacifier brands - no matter the material a pacifier is made from).
MY PACIFIER FEELS OILY - IS IT SAFE?Yes - our natural rubber products have been treated with vegetable oil. It is completely safe and harmless and safe for your baby. Note that you should always sterilize before using, and this should remove the oily feeling on the pacifier.
MY PACIFIER HAS A SMELL - IS IT SAFE?Natural rubber can sometimes have a faint smell reminiscent of vanilla, especially soon after our products are manufactured. It is primarily due to the presence of certain organic compounds within the rubber itself. One of the key compounds responsible for this aroma is called isoprene. Isoprene is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon that contributes to the distinctive scent of natural rubber. For the general population, though, the faint vanilla scent in natural rubber products is not a cause for concern regarding safety.
FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY AND HEALTH WARNING!HEVEA products are tested safe and are safe for you as well as for the planet. Rest assured they are free of BPA, PVC, phthalates, and other nasties. Specifically, our pacifiers are tested in accordance with safety standards: EN 1400, CPSIA, ASTM, SOR, AS/NZS ISO 8124. We work with an independent research agency, SGS, one of the world’s leading company for testing and analysis.
Please stop use of the pacifier right away if you do notice any allergic reactions when in use. Our products are made from natural rubber which comes from the latex sap from rubber trees. Protein is a naturally occurring element in latex which actually helps to preserve the rubber in a liquid state allowing us to work with it. During the production process much of the latex protein is leeched out, resulting in very low levels/no detective in the finished item. No allergic reaction to any HEVEA product has yet been reported, but we urge you to be aware of the unlikely potential for a latex allergic reaction if you suspect an allergy.
As noted above, before each use, always test the pacifier by gently pulling on the nipple in all directions to inspect it for any tears or rips. If you notice any tears or weakness in the nipple, it is time to dispose of the pacifier and replace.
Only use dedicated soother holders tested to EN 12586. Never attach other ribbons or cords to a soother, your child may be strangled by them.
